Rebel Fishing Lures: An American Fishing Tradition

Founded in Fort Smith Arkansas in 1961 by George Perrin, the plastic mold injection company began making a small, minnow like plastic lure that would mimic the action of a fish in the water in 1963. • In spring through late fall it is important to remember that big bass will be surface feeding, and the jumping minnow, one of the premiere of the Rebel fishing lures provides just the topwater action that will attract the big bass. By using a walk the dog or other topwater retrieval method along the top of vegetation lines and cover, the large bass will literally run to the surface after the jumping minnow. Try to cast about 20 feet beyond where you see the bass rising to the bait, then draw the minnow across the surface. The natural action of the lure plus the retrieval will mimic the action of an injured shad and will bring the aggressive feeding bass to the surface.
